Meet Wesam

The son of immigrants and a first-generation Palestinian-American, Wesam has fought to protect civil rights throughout his career and protect our communities. Born and raised in the Chicagoland area, he began his legal career as a prosecutor and later a policy advisor with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, working to enact criminal justice reform measures that held criminals accountable while providing a path to rehabilitation.

He then served as the Senior Legislative Council for Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul, working with elected officials across the state to advance legislation making the justice system fairer for all Illinoisans.

Outside the courtroom, Wesam has led voter outreach efforts across the Southland. Now he’s running to stand up to Donald Trump and other right-wing extremists and provide relief to working families throughout the south suburbs.
